Diggin' Up Fun

Rhys turned 3, and we had such a cute construction party! I got way more into it than I expected, this being my very first BOY party (the last two birthdays were joint parties with big sis). If you want an adorable and easy theme (basically just yellow/orange/black and use the diggers you already own)!

We went back to Graeter's Ice Cream for their reasonably-priced party room that has an amazing indoor playground attached! He loves ice cream, it worked in the past for us, so why reinvent the wheel?  Speaking of wheels...how cute are all these diggers?! Take a peek at our yellow, orange and black party for my favorite little construction-lover.

The set-up was easy, and everything for the party was purchased on Amazon!

Chocolate dipped Oreos...we make these for pretty much every party, because they are so easy to match your party colors. We use the colored Wilton melts.

This cake was soon delicious. A simple 2-layer chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream and Oreo crumbs.

Another items we always have is fruit salad. My Mother in Law makes the most amazing fruit dip with yogurt, cream cheese, and vanilla pudding mix!

A close-up of that Oreo deliciousness.

Party favors were Goldfish, M&Ms, and a little one little Tonka truck.

We thought it would be fun to use an orange cooler for lemonade, and then these are mini sandwiches from Kroger or Giant Eagle. The Mac and Cheese was from City BBQ (Rhys' favorite!)

This is the party host at Graeter's, and he was the BEST!

He made everyone's sundaes for them, which was a serious help.

Favorite moment of the day. His dreams actualized.

 Science experiment with dry ice!

I had to wrangle him for 3 seconds for Kate to take a photo.

I thought he was going headfirst into his dirt cake.

Have you ever had a construction-lover in your house?
